A Sea of Sorrow

I walked up to the sea of flags I’ve seen so many times in pictures. It’s impossible to grasp the total suffering and grief of all those who have lost their loved ones — but here, it somehow becomes tangible. The sorrow is alive as the flags move in the wind. It’s truly hard to hold back tears. I took a step closer and realised I was standing in front of the red flag of the Isle of Man and a photo of Chris Garrett, the mine clearing expert I just wrote a song about. It shouldn’t be possible — there are thousands upon thousands of flags here. It feels like a sea of sorrow.

Farewell Chris (the song is on all streaming services)
Listen/share to help me fund a second ambulance.
